A privacy notice for the people we contact on behalf of our clients.

At a glance

Who we are

Jannuss Partners Ltd. We arrange business meetings for our clients by contacting senior people at the companies they would like to meet.

Why we contacted you

One of our clients would like to meet someone in your role at your company. We always tell you which client we are contacting you for.

Where your details came from

Your work email address and phone number usually come from Lusha, a business contact data provider. Your name and role mostly come from LinkedIn.

If you’d rather not hear from us

Tell us and we’ll stop, for every client. Reply to our email, tell the person who calls you, or email dan@jannusspartners.com.

How to complain

Tell us first and we’ll try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commission (the ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

01

You can tell us to stop at any time

You have the right to object to direct marketing at any time, and we will always respect it. If you tell us you don’t want to hear from us, we will stop contacting you, on behalf of any client, straight away.

You can tell us however suits you:

So that we don’t contact you again, even if your details reach us again through a data provider, we keep a short record: your name, your company, and the email address and phone number we hold for you.

You can also ask Lusha to remove your details from its database. Its privacy notice, on lusha.com, explains how.

02

Who we are

Jannuss Partners Ltd (“Jannuss Partners”, “we”, “us”) is an appointment-setting firm. Our clients tell us which companies they would like to meet. We research those companies, contact the right people there by phone and email, and arrange meetings for anyone who would like one.

We are the controller of the personal information described here. That means we decide how it is used, and we are responsible for looking after it.

Jannuss Partners Ltd is registered in England and Wales under company number 15245395. Our registered office is 67 Smithbrook Kilns, Cranleigh, Surrey GU6 8JJ. We are registered with the Information Commission (ICO) under registration number ZB770226.

03

What information we hold about you

  • your name and job title

  • the company you work for

  • your work email address and work phone number. This may be a mobile number, if that is the number listed for you.

  • a record of our contact with you: when we called or emailed, what was said, and the outcome

  • if you agree to a meeting, the meeting details

  • if you ask us not to contact you, a note of that.

We don’t look for, or record, sensitive information about you, such as your health, religion or political views.

04

Where we got it

  • Lusha: a business contact data provider, where we usually find your work email address and phone number. Lusha’s own privacy notice explains where it gets its data.

  • Public sources: mainly LinkedIn, and sometimes your company’s website. We use these for your name, role and company.

  • Our client: our client chooses the companies they would like to meet and approves the list before we contact anyone.

  • You: anything you tell us when we speak or write.

05

How we use it, and why

We use your details to:

  • contact you by phone or email to ask whether you would be open to a meeting with our client

  • arrange the meeting, if you agree

  • keep a record of our contact, so that we don’t contact you too often, or at all once you have said no.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests: ours, in running our business, and our client’s, in meeting companies like yours. We think this is fair to you because:

  • we only contact people whose roles are relevant to what our client offers;

  • we use work contact details;

  • we contact you about business matters only;

  • we stop as soon as you ask.

We don’t make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.

06

Who we share it with

  • Our client: only if you agree to a meeting. We then pass your name, contact details and the meeting details to our client so the meeting can happen. We don’t pass your details to a client unless you agree to a meeting.

  • Our service providers, who act on our instructions and may only use your information to provide their service to us:

    • Microsoft (Microsoft 365), for email and the spreadsheet where we keep our records;

    • CloudTalk, based in Slovakia, for our phone system;

    • Lusha, whose platform we use to look up work contact details.

  • Our professional advisers, authorities, regulators and courts, when they need it or the law requires it.

  • A buyer of our business, if we ever sell or restructure it. They would have to treat your information in line with this notice.

We never sell your details.

07

International transfers

CloudTalk is based in Slovakia, which the UK recognises as giving adequate protection to personal information.

Lusha is headquartered in the United States, and some of our other providers can store or access information there too. When that happens, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised in UK law. For example, the provider is certified under the UK–US “data bridge”, or the transfer is covered by the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or its Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

You can ask us for more detail.

08

How long we keep it

  • If you don’t take up a meeting: 12 months after our last contact with you. Then we delete it.

  • If you agree to a meeting: the meeting record (your name, company, role and the meeting details) for 6 years, because it is the basis of our invoice to our client. We delete the rest after 12 months.

  • Call recordings: 90 days.

  • If you ask us not to contact you: the short record described in section 01, for as long as we do outreach.

09

Your rights

As well as the right to object (section 01), you have the right to:

  • Access: ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

  • Rectification: ask us to correct anything that is wrong.

  • Erasure: ask us to delete your information. We’ll still keep the short “do not contact” record unless you tell us you’d rather we kept nothing. Without it, though, we can’t make sure we don’t contact you again if your details reach us through a data provider.

  • Restriction: ask us to limit how we use it, for example while we check a correction.

  • Automated decisions: you have rights when important decisions about you are made solely by automated means. We don’t make any decisions like this.

To use any of these rights, email dan@jannusspartners.com. There is normally no charge. We may need to confirm your identity first. We’ll respond within one month. If your request is complex, we may need up to two more months; if so, we’ll tell you within the first month.
